At ACTA extensive and high-quality research is conducted within a broad range of specialist dentistry fields. Thanks to the increase importance being attached to good oral health, there are many issues that require attention within the various basic and clinical areas of attention. A great deal of the research at ACTA is carried out by the Interuniversity Dentistry Research School (IOT). The IOT coordinates and provides the training as dentistry researcher. The research work clustered in the IOT focuses chiefly on disease processes occurring in the area of the mouth and prevalent among the Dutch population. The main of the research is to improve and evaluate the treatment strategies and prevention possibilities for diseases and afflictions of the mouth. | ||||||||||||||

Researchers at ACTA have a wide network of international contacts and publish in leading scientific journals. Many contacts are maintained with social organizations and with the business community in order to further the aim of social relevance. ACTA provides doctoral students with a challenging start to their career. The research programmes have either a more clinical or a more basic medical-biological emphasis. | ||||||||||||||
