Postgraduate programmes (English)
Besides PhD programmes in 14 different research areas, ACTA offers six professional postgraduate courses, five of which are described here in detail. The sixth course is in oral maxillofacial surgery. This is a four-year full-time training programme at one of Amsterdam’s university hospitals. Applicants to this course should possess a recognised dental degree as well as a recognised medical degree. A good command of Dutch is obligatory and enrolment possibilities are limited. Applicants can contact the VU Clinical Medical Centre, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, De Boelelaan 1118, 1081 HV Amsterdam.
Expenses and accommodation
Like most Dutch universities, ACTA does not have a campus and cannot guarantee housing. However, the institute can often mediate to help students find appropriate accommodation. Housing and living expenses in Amsterdam are on a par with other European countries, and low compared to standards in the United States (EUR 600-700 per month).
These expenses are not included in the programme fees mentioned. The tuition fees for 2011-2012 are specified, but may be subject to increase in subsequent years. International students are required to have health insurance. The University of Amsterdam can offer health insurance to international students; please contact the UvA International Office (BIS) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA):
