More information on paediatric dentistry

Student profile 
The programme is aimed at postgraduate students who:

  • have a dental degree from a dental school accredited by the European Union or from an institute of similar accreditation;
  • have had at least two years’ clinical experience as general practitioner prior to commencing the programme;
  • have had training in writing reports on subjects they discussed and patients they treated;
  • are proficient in the Dutch language;
  • have a letter of application accompanied by two letters of recommendation from university staff members;
  • have a short curriculum vitae and a copy of the dental degree certificate should be submitted for application.

Diploma
After passing the final exams and submitting a research paper that, and after submission to a peer-reviewed journal of an article (approved by the senior scientists of the section) about the research that was performed as part of the program  the candidate will be awarded a Clinical Speciality Certificate in Paediatric dentistry , enabling the candidate to subscribe for full membership of the European Academy for Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD).

Tuition
The cost of this program for the academic year 2010-2011 is EUR 3500 per year for Dutch people, EUR 7000 for other Europeans and EUR 10.000 for non Europeans.

Visa
It is not possible to participate in the postgraduate programme in Paediatric Dentistry, for students who need a visa for the Netherlands.

Programme duration
The programme consists of three years of full-time education, made up of three days’ attendance and two days’ self-study.
