Endodontology
Aim
The aim of this programme is to train postgraduate students in endodontology on a specialist level. The programme, a highly integrated selection of courses, emphasises the development of a strong basic science background coupled with advanced diagnostic and clinical skills.
In addition to seminars and tutorials, a considerable amount of time is devoted to the treatment of patients referred by general practitioners. This clinical part of the programme involves extensive training in diagnosis and treatment of endodontic diseases, surgical endodontics, diagnosis and treatment of pain and traumatised teeth. Research training within the field of endontology is also part of the programme. The results of the research project conducted are required to be presented in the form of a written report. The programme’s approach is intended to prepare motivated individuals for a career in a multitude of areas, including clinical practice, teaching and research.
Organising department and faculty
The programme is organised by the department of Cariology Endodontology Pedodontology, and is chaired by Professor Paul R. Wesselink and coordinated with support from seven endodontic specialists who work part-time at ACTA. The research training is under supervision of Dr Min-Kai Wu.
