DESC will also be involved in laboratory studies for new space hardware developments, support science proposal in the field of microgravity and space flight as well as conducting own research. The grant is provided by Dutch National Institute for Space Research (SRON) external programs as part of NWO-ALW.|

During this period some time was dedicated to teaching general histology to dentist students and teaching cell culture techniques to medical Ph.D. students.|
