From fear of the dentist to the healing effects of saliva, the research institute responds to social developments with diverse research. It advises researchers on the organisation of their research, and highlights research that has a social impact. ACTA scientists have an extensive network of international contacts and publish in major scientific journals and ACTA even ranks number 2 in the QS World Ranking with its research.
The research institute is divided into two main programmes: 'Oral infection and inflammation' and 'Oral Regenerative Medicine', and speaks on behalf of ACTA at meetings on VU and UvA research. The research institute is also there for PhD students. It arranges practical things and money matters for doing research.
