Immunity & Oral Health
This priority area focuses on research into the quality of life and consists of the balance between the host and oral microbiome, biomaterials, (toxic) substances and nutrition. Factors such as saliva production and composition, as well as the resilience of different mucosal surfaces and hard tissues to inflammation and pathology, contribute to long-term oral health.

This priority area focuses on research into preserving and restoring chewing function at all stages of life. Tissue repair of the mucous, bone and teeth with an emphasis on 'self-repair' of the body are investigated here.
